Finish Your Painting
Introducing my newest project, Finish YOUr painting!
I’m starting a fun & HUGE regular giveaway on my blog.
So here’s the deal. I will start a new painting about once a month or so. Nothing big, just splashing some paint and maybe some marks and text.
Then I will post a picture and ask YOU for direction and how YOU think that I should finish the piece.
The person who’s answer inspires me the most, will GET the painting! Super simple, all you need to do is leave a comment on my blog
Here is the first canvas

This can go anywhere…just give me some direction and it’s YOURS!
It is an 11×14 canvas panel. *Oh and I forgot to mention that I will leave it up for a week before I choose which direction to take it. I will notify the person selected and post pictures regularly.
Good luck!!

oooo, I love the colors!! I like the house up in the right corner that looks like it’s on a floating platform with a floating ladder coming up to it from the right edge of the painting.
Ohhhh I love the colors so far! I see a pot of flowers on a table. The pink round in the middle looks like a start of a beautiful pot. And I see flower all around. Even falling on the table.
I see a bridge across the bottom, and I picture a little girl leaning over the edge, looking into the water. There is a birdhouse above her, lit from within, on a tree branch. Love it!!
Christy, what an insanely clever idea! I love how it looks already, it sort of evokes a feeling of spring in Paris to me… wet pavement, sort of an alley passage, and some muted color cafe shops…
Oh I’m so loving all of your ideas!
Beautiful work so far and clear as day there should be a blue bird inside the pink and yellow circle flapping it’s wings and singing on the Spring! Sanna
this made me happy Susan! Thank you very much! :)
what fun!!! I’m thinking some doodling…

lynn
Thanks Lynn! Ya, I think you are right. Might be adding some more!
Hi Christy-
Love the color palette! I saw an angel on the far left, white body with wings, head is maroon circle.
You know my style – I like a lot of black bold contrast lines. For this painting, my suggestion would be to
add some black for contrast, just a little :)
And I think its lovely as it is!

Jenelle
Jenelle, I’m really loving that idea. Thank you for posting :) xoxo
Dearest sweet Christy, i am loving this idea so so much! Very creative and inspiring!
I see a sweet little lady making her way home after a hard’s day work at the field. Her home is where she finds happiness and comfort…a place where she belongs, a place where she is able to finally do what she loves and be herself. Thanks so much for this opportunity! Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!
What a fab idea. :) I see a peacock in there on the fence with a house and a meadow in the background. :)
Oh, Christy! You are SO COOL , and I just LOVE this idea!
I haven’t read the other replies, so I don’t know if anyone had the same vision that I had. But I see a round (delightfully chubby) red cardinal sitting right in the middle of the canvas, with his beak pointing to the skies as he sings a charming little melody for all to hear. It looks to me like there is a fence there, so he is sitting on the fence. Floating in the back are small music notes . . . in a primitive style . . .
Red Cardinals are rather special to me in my life, as my father and I used to love to watch them together. My dad passed away 8 years ago, and whenever I see a cardinal now, I immediately feel like it is my father sending me a message that he is still with me. My dad used to mimic the cardinals call by whistling, and for some reason . . . the minute I saw your picture, I thought of my dad and knew that cardinal should be sitting right there . . . singing.
What a fantastic idea . . . can’t wait to see which direction you take your piece. SO talented, my friend!!!
Love your idea Christy! At first glance I saw what appeared to be a circle/cage with a tiny bird, surrounded by landscape and a house in the far right corner. The second time I looked, I still see a house in the far right corner, but the circle could also be a delightful blooming flower in a flower garden. How fun, enjoy your creative adventure.
Susan
Love the colors and the house. I see a village drawn in ink over your background.
